I have been homeschooled my whole life. Since I was not schooled in a classroom setting, I was able to learn in a personalized way that helped me discover and develop my passions. I participate in a local homeschool co-op, where I have made some of my closest friends and even founded and directed a thriving homeschool theatre program.
Because I did not have to spend my days in a public school, I have had the time and resources to learn life skills and explore my passions for music and composition. For the last seven years, I have been a part of the Sarasota Youth Opera program. I also play trombone and viola with Gulf Coast Homeschool Fine Arts program, and I study piano and music composition privately. This coming year, I will dual enroll at State College of Florida, while also focusing on completing Eagle Scout, and I will be the personal assistant to the director of the Sarasota Concert Band, a year-round professional musical ensemble that also offers a middle and high school Honor Band and a chamber music and jazz improv summer camp. I hope to study musical theatre composition and write musicals for Broadway, bringing the richness, beauty, and truth of God’s word to the masses, much like Lin-Manuel Miranda brought to life American history for the masses.
