I’ve been homeschooled my whole life, so I don’t know any other way, but I think homeschooling has definitely given me a lot more freedom to pursue things I'm interested in and to work. It gave me a lot more academic options and access to more opportunities.
At the age of 12, I was interested in 2D animation. My mom was able to network in our community and find an animation company that let me intern. I stayed for two years, and then they hired me. It was a great experience and taught me a lot about the working world. I gained some valuable, marketable skills, but I also learned that I did not want to pursue animation. If I had not been homeschooled, I could never have had this experience, and it may have caused me to take the wrong path in life.
When I was in middle school and early high school, I participated in a local youth opera program. I love music, but I realized that opera was not my thing, but my years in that program did bring one game changer into my life -- my future wife, Samantha Brown!
In my freshman year of high school, I began dual enrollment at State College of Florida. I currently work full time as a landscaper, while finishing Eagle Scout, and completing an Associate Degree. After graduating high school next year, my wonderful fiance and I will get married. We plan to move to Texas together to attend Texas A&M, where I will join their Marines Corps of Cadets and complete my Bachelor’s Degree. My goal is to ultimately become a military psychiatrist in the Marine Corps and raise a family with Samantha.
