Tackling High School With Confidence

2020-04-11 04:48:51/Jenni & Jody

For many homeschool families, the thought of homeschooling through high school is unthinkable. Parents say, “I don’t know all those subjects, so how can I possibly teach my child?” So often in the homeschool community, we see gung ho parents in the elementary years, but as middle school approaches, many become tentative, and then by high school the numbers seem to dwindle

Today’s guest offers powerful reasons to homeschool all the way through high school, but she also offers practical advice for how to do that. She talks about equipping our teens with time management skills and empowering them to take responsibility for their education, so that parents don’t have to worry about what they can or can’t teach.

“Make sure you know your state homeschool requirements. There are a few states that do specify numbers of credits in their homeschool law, but they are actually just a few states. For the rest of the states, take a look and see how much freedom you do have. And that is also going to reduce that fear level and boost that confidence level.”
