This course walks students through the eight powerful steps of studying any subject. These include pre-learning for classes and taking effective textbook notes, maximizing class time and taking effective lecture notes, processing notes to make the most of them as a study tool, individual studying to master difficult material, group study to supplement and clarify material, pre-testing yourself both individually and with a study group, maximizing test performance, and reviewing tests effectively. For most kids, studying means reading over their textbook and notes and perhaps creating some flashcards, but if we understand that studying encompasses all it takes to truly master a subject and to demonstrate mastery by scoring well on assignments, exams, projects, and papers, then the total process includes much more.
